Christina Kimmerle studied architecture from 2000 to 2007 at the Technical University of Graz [Diploma 2007], Technical University of Berlin and at the la Villette School of Architecture in Paris. In her diploma project «ruin under construction» she follows up the complex reasons leading to the failure of an abandoned construction site as product of misguided planning in post-cold-war Berlin of the 1990ies.
After her studies Christina Kimmerle taught as an assistant lecturer at the Technical University of Graz at the Institute of Architecture and Landscape [Prof. Klaus Loenhart] with the focus on landscape urbanism. Beside she worked for different architectural offices in Austria and France. Recently she has been managing a project development at the new Vienna central station for the Paris based architectural office Renzo Piano Building Workshop.
In December 2012 Christina Kimmerle passed the state exam for her architect’s licence [Ziviltechniker] in Vienna and founded “CO ARCH”, Cooperative Office for Architecture. The studios’ focus is the cooperative way of working with interdisciplinary partners, in order to co-develop contemporary solutions for complex tasks in architecture and urbanism.
